NBC’s competition show “Ultimate Slip ‘N Slide” almost had to change the title to “Run’ N Don’t Shart” … after several crew members had severe cases of diarrhea.
So get that… the workers would have fallen with guts on the heels of at least one person on the set who tested positive earlier this month for Giardia – an intestinal infection caused by a parasite.
The team was filming in the San Fernando Valley before production was shut down indefinitely. According to The Wrap, things were going so badly that some of the crew collapsed in pain, while others rushed into port-o-potties.
A source close to the production confirmed to TMZ… a number of people have reported gastrointestinal symptoms and upset stomach. We are told that we don’t know exactly how much, but it was enough to stop production.
Our sources say the studio halted production on June 2 when they learned of Giardia’s case and, in coordination with various health departments … the production worked with an environmental lab to test the water on site.
We are told that the pond, slide, tanker truck and washroom sinks have all tested negative, but a positive test returned on Thursday. They had been touring for 7 weeks and they had one week left. By the way, we are told to the hosts, Bobby Moynihan and Ron Funches, It’s okay.
A representative from Universal Television Alternative Studios, the production company behind the NBC show, told TMZ… the health and safety of everyone on the set is his number one priority, so out of caution, he said. made the decision to stop production at the current location. They’re trying to figure out where and when to finish filming.
