NC Theater returns with first live production since pandemic closure, Songs for a New World

RALEIGH, NC (WTVD) – Live theater returns to downtown Raleigh with the North Carolina Theater production of Songs For A New World.

“This is an incredible score by Jason Robert Brown,” said director Eric Woodall. “It’s about hope and how we deal with the changes that are suddenly inflicted on us and how we go through those changes and come out better on the other side. So it’s timely,” he said. -he adds.

Woodall says Songs for a New World is the number one musical across the country as live theater makes a comeback. “Because people see its relevance and also that it’s small. We are able to produce it with four powerful performers,” said Woodall.

The return is moving for Adam Jacobs, one of the main actors of the series. “I am moved just thinking how difficult this year has been not only for me but for all my friends and people in the industry,” said Jacobs. “And, being here on stage in front of people, again, is like receiving the shock from the defibrillator. I just feel like I’m back and doing what I love.”
