Local extras wanted for the production of the shooting of Color Purple

An upcoming filming production of “The Color Purple: The Musical” is looking for a few more extras this month.

On Location Casting is looking for local adults and children to work as paid extras and extras on the production, located in Grantville.

The company has currently teamed up with Warner Brothers to launch their new project “The Color Purple: The Musical”, produced by Steven Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey.

“Our goal is to bring jobs to the local community and have South Georgia represent itself in this iconic film,” said Tina Kerr, casting director at On Location Casting.

Applicants must include a selfie photo of themselves, contact information, clothing sizes, and date of birth.

Filming dates will be April 11-14 and April 18-22. Filming is expected to wrap by 10 p.m. most nights except April 13, 14, and 20, which will wrap before midnight.
