Iran’s petrochemical production increases 8% in first half of 2021

Iran’s petrochemical production increased 8% in the first half of the current Iranian year compared to the same period a year earlier, according to Jalal Mir-Hashemi, director of production control at National Petrochemical Company (NPC). Six-month petrochemical production was 32.8 million tonnes and the factories were operating at good capacity.

Given the country’s needs for the production of health products such as face masks, the petrochemical industry continues to increase production to provide animal feed to these areas, Mir-Hashemi said.

With the measures taken and the sustainable supply of animal feed this year, the production of many products in petrochemical complexes has increased. While meeting the demands of domestic markets, the export programs have also been recognized, the official said as quoted by Iranian media.
