Illumination Sets Despicable Me 4 and Migration Release Dates

Gru and the Minions Return as Universal Pictures and Illumination Announce Release Dates for a Fourth Despicable Me movie.

Despicable Me 4 is set to arrive in theaters on July 3, 2024 and will see Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Pierre Coffin, Miranda Cosgrove and Steve Coogan return to their original lead roles. The film will be directed by Chris Renaud, who also directed the first two Despicable Me films, with Patrick Delage co-directing a screenplay by Mike White. No details about the film have yet been revealed.

Next to the news of Despicable Me 4Illumination and Universal also announced that Migrationan original animated film from Illumination, will be released in theaters on June 30, 2023. This film will follow the story of a family of ducks, with Illumination describing it as “a modern-day comedy following a family of ducks who convince their most – protective father to go on the vacation of a lifetime as they attempt to migrate from New England, through New York and eventually to the Bahamas.

Migration will be produced by Illumination founder Chris Meledandri and directed by Oscar nominee Benjamin Renner (Ernest and Celestine), with an original screenplay by Mike White.
