HMSI is gradually resuming production in its factories; to support dealers

After resuming operations on a phased basis, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) announced on Saturday that production had resumed at its factories in Manesar (Haryana), Tapukara (Rajasthan) and Vithalapur (Gujarat).

The company also announced support for its authorized resellers who were totally blocked. As part of the special initiative, the company would take over all interest on dealers’ inventory under full foreclosure for 30 days or more.

MD, President and CEO Atsushi Ogata said, “We are gradually resuming production operations following all Covid-19 compliance and lockdown guidelines from the respective state governments. While there are visible signs of recovery in the country, we will continue to monitor the situation very closely and move forward with the safety and well-being of all our stakeholders a top priority. “

Explaining how HMSI prioritizes business continuity with its dealer partners during these difficult times, Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Company Sales and Marketing Director, said, “In these difficult times, HMSI is proactively expanding its support financial to its dealers. We are confident that fully supporting the interest on existing dealer inventory of those dealers who are stranded for 30 days or more will alleviate their immediate business continuity problem. “

Guleria said there was a visible positive dynamic in the Covid-19 vaccination campaign as well as various other measures taken by central and state governments. However, HMSI is moving forward with a calibrated approach across its entire ecosystem, ensuring synergy for stable and efficient operations.

“We expect the restrictions to ease from various local and state governments in the near future and therefore we are moving cautiously in a phased manner to serve our customers,” he said.

HMSI had also announced an extension of the warranty and free vehicle service benefits until July 31, 2021, in all of its dealer networks across India. The extension will be applicable to all customers, whose free service, warranty and extended vehicle warranty originally ended between April 1 and May 31, 2021, according to a company statement. HMSI office staff continue to work from home to maintain business continuity while extending all possible support to customers and business partners.
