Dozens of migrants arrive in Jupiter, disembarked



JUPITER, Fla. – A boat full of dozens of migrants arrived in Jupiter on Sunday.

Witnesses were surprised by the timing of the boat’s arrival, as most boats with migrants arrive late at night or early in the morning.

Dozens of migrants rush to the beach from a boat that arrived on December 12, 2021 in Jupiter, Florida.

Witnesses on the beach told WPTV the boat arrived in the middle of the day.

They said they saw the captain put on his mask, then saw 40 to 50 migrants get off the boat and head for the street, some leaving behind clothes and shoes.

“I saw them running towards the beach, running towards the street, running through the bushes, literally like they were running for their lives without any direction,” witness Caitlin Kinirons said.

“We were talking to this lady and we just see people running on the beach, I would say almost 40 of them, and we can see all these people and they keep running,” Witness Madeline Comorad said.

US Border Patrol spokesman Adam Hoffner said 23 migrants had been arrested.

Hoffner said the involved boat was seized by federal authorities.
